When God Appears to the Birds
Emerging from his regular spot of playing saxophone, bass clarinet, whistles etc with Gentle Stranger, Skydaddy, Jimmy Means Smut, Jenny Kennedy and ELSAS, Nicholas Hann is writing his own songs now.
After a brief stint covering in the band ‘caroline’ on their recent tour, Nicholas decided of all the forms of music he’s interested in, he likes songs the best.
‘When God Appears to the Birds’ is a simple little song with 10 saxophones on it. It asks a difficult question about whether humans are alone amongst the animals in their music making ability.
“It’d be nice to be your favourite bands, favourite bands, favourite band” says Nicholas.
This is the first single and all instruments are played by Nicholas.
It is released on Friday 22nd May 2026.
